Get Caught Up.
This summer I decided to customize my reading list, I wanted to get as educated as I could with fashion in such a short amount of time.
Two years ago I received a book called Lessons Of A Lipstick Queen by Poppy King, I read it the week I was in New York and when I got home I put it on my shelf not thinking anything of it. About a month ago I picked it back up as I was experimenting with lipstick shades. Poppy’s lesson finally sunk in. She narrates to us the story of how she founded her Lipstick Line, (which is BEAUTIFUL!) with some advice about money, life, and decisions. As I reread it, I can finally understand her journey through the fashion world, I find myself in the same position but younger. It’s a great book to go back to every now and then to remind yourself that in the end it can happen for you, with the right amount of effort and passion.
Its only a matter of time that you walk into a bookstore and come across a treasure, The Black Dress by Valerie Steele gives an amazing breakdown of the classic LBD, or better known, The Little Black Dress. It was made iconic when it starred in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. But the Black Dress went back way further. It is such a classic, till this day it’s constantly reinvented. Not to mention, it’s the one thing in your closet that never goes out of style, and will always look good on you. This book is amazing to have in your design box for ideas, and to have in the back of your mind the real story of The Little Black Dress.

Boys Are Back !

Jonas Brothers annouced their 2010 World Tour dates!
Last year when they were here, the whole day was a very tearful and adrenaline filled blur. I remember crying through most of the concert and singing at the top of my lungs. As a matter of fact, I lost my voice for a good 4 days after that night, however I also remember losing a couple of pounds from all the sweating and jumping!
I have very high expectations this time around. They are touring the Demi & the Camp Rock 2 crew, other acts soon to be annouced.
Hopefully they are coming to a town near you, check it out!

Clean It Up!

I’m a very simple girl: No eye shadow, lip balm, some eyeliner, and powder here and there. Not to mention I have sensitive skin, so it’s very hard to find a collection that fits my skin, and not the other way around.
Alas! My search has come to an end. CoverGirl improved their look for the Clean Collection, which looks fresh and simple. My eyes were drawn in by force! I bought the Concealer and Pressed Powder in my shade 545 Warm beige.
When I got home I ran to the bathroom to see what CoverGirl had to offer since I hadn’t tried CoverGirl make up before? I applied the concealer- simple. Blended the pressed powder- felt like nothing was on? However my face looked clear as clear as CoverGirl Drew Barrymore!
I bought the Oil Control collection, it feels lightweight and looks as if I have no make up on what so ever. It gives me a natural glow and to finish it off I used the Wild Berry Wink Lipstain. If you like a very classic, natural look the Clean Collection is perfect for you. Find your shade at http://www.covergirl.com/products/collections/clean/ and Clean up your face!

In With The Out! Out With The New!
Everyday I see more and more of the beautiful All Weather Leather Vintage Dooney & Bourke handbags. Don’t get me wrong? I love any Dooney, but I think it’s the uniqueness about them; I have yet to see two of the same! I wear mine all the time, even though people have told me it looks like an older woman’s purse, I think it defines me from the crowd. Every girl I see who wears theirs looks amazing; it matches with everything, compliments almost every outfit, and is just one more unique thing about you. You can find them online at their website, http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCZzpHome.jsp?a=b or you can have an adventure looking for them at thrift stores, like I said they are unique and any one you find would look spontaneous!

Let me introduce myself,
My name is Janell! Im fifteen about to be sixteen in September, I currently live in San Antonio, but long for New York City. There is not a day that goes by that I dont think about how life will be like when I will finally move there. My passion is fashion and everything around it. I used to help my aunt out with her Quincenera Magazine, and I guess you could say thats where I got the taste of the world I wanted to be apart of. Now I set out to do my own thing. My Dream is to be a writer, but from time to time I find myself sketching designs and practing my poses! With this blog I hope to inspire girls who are just like me, girls that are inspired by music, art, fashion, and the rush of the city.
